Sunday Prayer

We come together/ to worship and adore God/, not only to praise and thank Him/ for all the blessings/ He has given us/, and to repent for the sins/ we have committed/ that displease Him/, but also to humbly ask for the graces necessary for the salvation of our souls.

We firmly believe/ in everything taught by/ the Holy Religion of God/, especially these essential truths/: that there is one God/ of infinite power, who created heaven and earth/, and that/ He is three Persons/: the Father/, the Son/, and the Holy Spirit/. These Three Persons/ is one nature/ and one power/, and therefore/, the Three Persons is one God.

We believe/ that the Second Person, Jesus/, became human/, born of the Virgin Mary/. He lived on earth/ for thirty-three years/ and died on the cross/ to redeem the sins of the world/. On the third day/, He rose again/, and after forty days/, He ascended into heaven/. Ten days later/, the Holy Spirit descended/ upon the Apostles and/ the newly established Church/. Whoever is not/ in communion with this Church cannot be saved.

We believe the soul/ is an immortal spiritual being/, and on the last day/, the bodies of all people/ will rise and be judged/. The righteous will go/ to heaven and enjoy/ eternal happiness/, while the wicked will fall/ into hell and suffer/ eternal punishment/.

However/, believing/ these truths alone/ is not enough/ to enter heaven. We must also keep/ the Ten Commandments of God/ and the six precepts/ of the Church, and do good and virtuous deeds. For this reason, we must always fear/ and avoid sin/, especially the seven deadly sins/, which are the root of all other sins/. Therefore/, we must be diligent/ and frequently receive/ the sacraments/ that Jesus Christ has given us/, as they are the most effective/ means of becoming holy.

Among the seven sacraments/, Baptism/, Eucharist/, and Penance/ are the three most necessary/ for our salvation/. Therefore, we must strive/ to receive/ these sacred sacraments/ with great care and devotion/, firmly believe/ in the teachings of our faith/, and faithfully observe/ these commandments/, so that we may enjoy the blessings/ of peace and happiness/ in the life to come. Amen.

The Ten Commandments  

1. Worship one God and love Him above all things.  

2. Do not take the name of God in vain.  

3. Keep the Lord's Day holy.  

4. Honor your father and mother.  

5. Do not murder.  

6. Do not commit adultery.  

7. Do not steal.  

8. Do not bear false witness.  

9. Do not covet your neighbor's wife.  

10. Do not covet your neighbor's property.

The Ten Commandments are summed up in these two:  

First, love God above all things.  

Second, love your neighbor as yourself. Amen.

The Six Principal Precepts of the Church  

1. Attend Holy Mass on all Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation.  

2. Fast and abstain on the appointed days.  

3. Confess your sins at least once a year.  

4. Receive Holy Communion at least once a year, especially during the Easter season.  

5. Contribute to the support of the Church.  

6. Observe the Church's laws regarding Marriage.

The Seven Sacraments  

1. Baptism

The Seven Corporal Works of Mercy  

1. Feed the hungry.  

2. Give drink to the thirsty.

6. Ransom the captives.  

7. Bury the dead.

The Seven Spiritual Works of Mercy  

1. Counsel the doubtful with kindness.  

2. Instruct the ignorant.  

3. Comfort the sorrowful.  

4. Admonish sinners.  

5. Forgive offenses.  

6. Bear patiently with those who wrong us.  

7. Pray for the living and the dead.

The Seven Deadly Sins and Their Opposite Virtues  

1. Be humble, do not be proud.  

2. Be generous, do not be greedy.  

3. Be chaste, do not indulge in lust.  

4. Be patient, do not give in to anger.  

5. Practice temperance, do not give in to gluttony.  

6. Show kindness, do not envy.  

7. Be diligent in the work of God, do not be lazy.

The Eight Beatitudes  

1. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  

2. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.  

3. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.  

4. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.  

5. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.  

6. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.  

7. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.  

8. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  

Blessed are you when people revile you, persecute you, and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely because of Me.  

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Amen.

L DOMINGO

Nos reunimos/ para adorar a Dios/, no solo para alabarlo/ y agradecerle por todas/ las bendiciones/ que nos ha dado/, y para arrepentirnos/ de los pecados/ que hemos cometido/ y que no le agradan/; sino también para atrevernos/ a pedirle que nos conceda/ las gracias necesarias/ para la salvación/ de nuestras almas/.

Por lo tanto/, creemos firmemente/ en todo lo que la Santa Religión/ de Dios nos enseña/ infaliblemente, especialmente/ en estas verdades esenciales/: que hay un Dios todopoderoso/ que creó los cielos y la tierra/, y que es tres Personas/: la Primera Persona es el Padre/, la Segunda Persona es el Hijo/, y la Tercera Persona es/ el Espíritu Santo/. Las Tres Personas/ comparten una sola naturaleza/ y un solo poder/; por lo tanto/, las Tres Personas son también/ un solo Dios.

Creemos que/ la Segunda Persona, Jesús/, se hizo humano/, nacido de la Virgen María/; vivió en la tierra/ treinta y tres años/ y luego murió en la cruz/ para redimir/ los pecados del mundo/. Al tercer día resucitó/, y después de cuarenta días/ ascendió al cielo/; diez días después/, el Espíritu Santo descendió/ sobre los Apóstoles/ y sobre la Iglesia/ recién establecida/. Creemos que el alma/ es un ser espiritual/ que no puede morir/; y en el día final/, los cuerpos de los hombres/ resucitarán y serán juzgados/: los buenos irán/ al cielo y disfrutarán/ de la felicidad eterna/, mientras que los malvados/ caerán al infierno y sufrirán/ el castigo eterno/.

Sin embargo/, creer en estas cosas/ no es suficiente/ para llegar al cielo/; debemos también guardar/ los Diez Mandamientos de Dios/, los seis preceptos de la Iglesia/, y hacer obras buenas y virtuosas/. Por eso/, debemos temer/ y evitar siempre el pecado/, especialmente/ los siete pecados capitales/, que son la raíz/ de todos los demás pecados/. Debemos, además/, ser diligentes en recibir/ con frecuencia los sacramentos/ que Jesucristo nos ha dado/, ya que son el medio más eficaz /para alcanzar la santidad.

De los siete sacramentos/, el Bautismo/, la Eucaristía y/ la Penitencia/ son los más necesarios/ para nuestra salvación. Por lo tanto/, debemos esforzarnos siempre/ en observar cuidadosamente/ estos preceptos solemnes/, y creer y practicar/ fielmente/ las enseñanzas de la fe/, para que podamos disfrutar/ de las bendiciones/ de la paz y la felicidad/ en la vida venidera/. Amén.

Los Diez Mandamientos de Dios  

1. Adorar a un solo Dios y amarlo sobre todas las cosas.  

2. No tomar el nombre de Dios en vano.  

3. Santificar las fiestas (guardar el domingo).  

4. Honrar a tu padre y a tu madre.  

5. No matar.  

6. No cometer adulterio.  

7. No robar.  

8. No dar falso testimonio.  

9. No desear la mujer de tu prójimo.  

10. No codiciar los bienes ajenos.

Los diez mandamientos se resumen en estos dos:  Primero, amar a Dios sobre todas las cosas.  Segundo, amar a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. Amén.

Los seis preceptos principales de la Iglesia  

1. Asistir a la Santa Misa los domingos y días de precepto.  

2. Ayunar y abstenerse en los días señalados.  

3. Confesar los pecados al menos una vez al año.  

4. Recibir la Sagrada Comunión al menos una vez al año, preferentemente en Pascua.  

5. Contribuir al sostenimiento de la Iglesia.  

6. Observar las leyes de la Iglesia sobre el Matrimonio.

Los siete sacramentos

Siete obras de misericordia corporales:

6. Rescatar a los cautivos.  

7. Enterrar a los muertos.

Siete obras de misericordia espirituales:  

1. Aconsejar al que lo necesita.  

2. Enseñar al que no sabe.  

3. Consolar al triste.  

4. Corregir al que se equivoca.  

5. Perdonar las ofensas.  

6. Sufrir con paciencia las molestias del prójimo.  

7. Orar por los vivos y los difuntos.

Los siete pecados capitales y sus virtudes opuestas  

1. Humildad, contra la soberbia.  

2. Generosidad, contra la avaricia.  

3. Castidad, contra la lujuria.  

4. Paciencia, contra la ira.  

5. Templanza, contra la gula.  

6. Caridad, contra la envidia.  

7. Diligencia, contra la pereza.

Las ocho bienaventuranzas  

1. Bienaventurados los pobres de espíritu, porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos.  

2. Bienaventurados los que lloran, porque serán consolados.  

3. Bienaventurados los mansos, porque heredarán la tierra.  

4. Bienaventurados los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia, porque serán saciados.  

5. Bienaventurados los misericordiosos, porque alcanzarán misericordia.  

6. Bienaventurados los limpios de corazón, porque verán a Dios.  

7. Bienaventurados los pacificadores, porque serán llamados hijos de Dios.  

8. Bienaventurados los que padecen persecución por causa de la justicia, porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos.  

Bienaventurados seréis cuando, por causa de mi nombre, os insulten, os persigan y digan toda clase de mal contra vosotros mintiendo. Alegraos y regocijaos, porque vuestra recompensa será grande en el cielo. Amen.
